All performances in the Concert Series are held at the Victoria Fine Arts Center 1002 Sam Houston Drive at 7:30 p.m

  • Concert Series 1 - “Virtuosos”

    Along with Andrea Bocelli, Carrie Underwood, and others, the VSO joins these collaborators in a performance with crossover violinist Caroline Campbell in several of her very own arrangements from Carmen to Pirates of the Caribbean!  This will be followed by Mahler's epic and monumental Fifth Symphony in a virtuoso soloist-orchestra spectacular!

    Concert Series 2 - "An Appalachian Symphonic Escapade!"

    Join us for a trip thru musical Americana with Copland’s famous ballet Appalachian Spring and a rare treat by the reigning saxophone virtuoso Amy Dickson in John Williams Escapades from the movie “Catch Me If You Can”. And if that wasn’t enough, the orchestra will share virtuoso duties by ending with the electrifying Fourth Symphony by Tchaikovsky!

    Sweet Caroline is Coming to America in a Song Sung Blue!  Super Diamond, a tribute band featuring the music of the legendary Neil Diamond will join the VSO in a blast from the past!  Come hear what the orchestras of Charlotte, Phoenix, Utah, and San Diego have featuring sweeping orchestral arrangements and the music of Super Diamond - The Neil Diamond Tribute!

    Concert Series 4 - “Tangos and Serenades”

    Rossini's Overture to the Italian in Algiers kicks off a classical program with an Argentine punch!  Virtuoso accordionist Hanzhi Wang brings a set of tangos with string orchestra and we close with the pre-cursor to the four great symphonies of Brahms with his Serenade #1for orchestra in a VSO premiere!

    Concert Series 5 - “An Alpine Symphony”

    Our final concert brings an end to our five-year Cliburn Project with Sean Chen in Saint-Saens Second Piano Concerto which will sure to please.  The piece de la resistance and crowning achievement of the season will come together in a VSO premiere performance of Richard Strauss' musical depiction of the ascent and descent up a large mountain in his gargantuan Alpine Symphony!
