 Stories have always been the stuff of dreams. They can take you to far away places or allow you to live another life. They can make your dreams come true. Music has always been the twin to these stories. Music can do the same thing stories can do but in different ways. However, when you combine them, they become a wondrous thing, magical and awesome. This season we will do just that by bringing you music and story combined in unique ways, embracing the power of a tale and the magic of a tune. We present this season “A Symphonic Storybook Season; Tales and Scales in Five Chapters”. Five concerts combining stories from Shakespeare to Faust, from Mother Goose to Ogden Nash using narration and acting will be combined with the power of a symphony orchestra. Favorites like Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Saints-Saens, and Stravinsky will fill us with wonderful melodies, glorious harmonies, and powerful orchestrations and Sha Na Na will tell us the tale of good ol’ American rock n’ roll! Good stories, great music, and a fantastic orchestra and all just up the road from home. Does it get any better than this?
