— Symphony #3 in D major op.43
The land of Scottland is a land of luminous lochs and majestic mountains and so is the music. The majesty of this fascinating country comes to Victoria in musical form as we present Scottish-influenced music. English composer Malcolm Arnold's Scottish Dances begins the concert while German Max Bruch puts Scotland into concerto form in his Scottish Fantasy for violin and orchestra. Finally Austrian Feliz Mendelssohn rounds out our concert with his Symphony #3, subtitled "The Scottish." |
